Pliego, who has an estimated fortune worth $ 13 billion, made it clear to his more than 840,000 Twitter followers that he was an avid Bitcoin supporter. He made this change when Bitcoin hit the $ 40,000 mark during a massive rally over the weekend.

The billionaire is no stranger to the Bitcoin. Pliego announced in December that it had bought its first bitcoins in 2013, when the cryptocurrency was still trading at $ 200 per coin. He called the coin his best investment ever as he held the cryptocurrency until the 2017 bull run when it traded at $ 17,000. Pliego bought back Bitcoins at a lower price and announced that it now holds 10% of its liquid portfolio in BTC. He is a long-term Investor and does not intend to sell his Bitcoins too soon.
Bitcoin rose to the $ 40,000 mark over the weekend, but fell back to $ 38,000 on Sunday. The leading cryptocurrency is recovering and trading just above the $ 39,000 mark at the time of writing. The Bitcoin has yet to hit a new all-time high after hitting one in the first week of January at $ 41,960. However, the latest rally could reach an all-time high and set a new one in the coming weeks.
