Craig Wright’s courier has brought a list of 16,000 Bitcoin addresses

The customs-locked courier that was supposed to deliver the“ key parts ” needed to unlock the encrypted files containing Craig Wright’s alleged Bitcoin fortune has finally arrived, driving up the price of BSV.

However, lawyers for the Kleiman estate say the keys are just a list of 16,404 public addresses, adding that they were not provided with any information about the courier or the message he delivered.

Craig Wright is much-a chief scientist at nChain, the self-proclaimed creator of Bitcoin, the main advocate for Bitcoin’s most unpopular offshoot Bitcoin Satoshi’s Vision (BSV). One thing Wright is not, however, is seemingly a truth teller. Wright caused a stir at the end of the year when he claimed that a customs-locked courier with the missing information needed to“ tap into ” his alleged Bitcoin fortune will arrive in January 2020, after which the price of Bitcoin SV put down a rarely seen bullrun. Yesterday, Wright and his legal team filed a notice to the court that the courier had arrived and forwarded the information he brought to the Kleiman legal team.

“Dr. Wright informs the court that a third party has provided the necessary information and key parts to unlock the encrypted file, and Wright has submitted a list of his Bitcoin holdings, as ordered by the magistrate judge, to the plaintiffs today,” the note said.

The news shook the crypto industry, but many outlets falsely reported the development, saying Wright provided the private keys to the addresses where his alleged $ 8 billion fortune lies. Wright’s last message was nothing more than an attempt to delay the trial. The plaintiffs in the case quickly responded to the monumental information and filed a motion on January 14 proposing a change in the schedule of the trial. The Kleimans ‘ lawyers requested a 90-day postponement of the trial date and all corresponding partial deadlines, as they need more time to adequately prepare the case for trial.

According to the Kleiman legal team, they cannot say whether the three-month extension will actually be enough, since Wright provided more than “slices” of information in his last communication. Because the key parts necessary for access to the encrypted files mentioned in the case contained only a list of 16,404 addresses. The tone of the notice filed by the Kleiman estate clearly shows that they have just had enough of Wright’s lies. Stephen Palley, a blockchain and virtual currency lawyer at Anderson Kill, said Wright’s behavior raises more questions than it answers.

“So, I’m not saying the list is authentic or not. I’m just saying that this is a guy that two federal judges have basically called a liar and he just opened a new Pandora’s box. So it might not turn out well“, tweet he.

Since Wright still has 10 days to respond to the plaintiffs ‘ question about the courier, the case will remain in limbo until the end of the month. Until then, there could be further price fluctuations for both Bitcoin and BSV.
